Amarapura Palace

Amarapura Palace, once a royal residence in the historic capital of Amarapura, Burma, was built in the late 18th to early 19th century and later abandoned in favor of Mandalay Palace. Visitors can explore the ruins, including the remnants of an impressive audience hall constructed by King Tharrawaddy Min around 1838, and the expansive grounds that once covered a quarter of a square mile. Notable features include an elevated brick terrace and the tombs of Kings Bodawpaya and Bagyidaw, alongside parts of the old moat, offering a glimpse into the region's royal heritage.
