Lindholmen Castle, Västergötland

Lindholmen Castle, located in Lidköping Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden, is a historical site with roots dating back to 1514. Originally established as a manor house in 1516, it was transformed into a fortified castle by Vice Admiral Bengt Gabrielsson Oxenstierna in the late 17th century. Unfortunately, the castle suffered a devastating fire in 1792, leaving only a portion of its 17th-century wing intact. Today, visitors can explore the ruins and appreciate the rich history and architectural significance of this once-grand structure.
