Deep Eddy Pool spring-fed swimming hole

Deep Eddy Pool is a historic spring-fed swimming pool on the Colorado River that originated from a natural swimming hole fed by a spring, giving the pool consistently cooler water than typical surface-fed pools. The pool, built in the early 20th century and later reconstructed, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a documented example of an urban spring feature in Austin. The spring discharge that feeds the pool connects local groundwater flow to the riverine system in west-central Austin.
