Jos. Gunderson House

The Jos. Gunderson House, located at 983 Centre Street in Newton, Massachusetts, is a historic two-story wood-frame residence built around 1850. It showcases a rare Regency variant of Greek Revival architecture, notable for its unique front facade with recessed panels and projecting sections that mimic pilasters. This architectural style is uncommon outside of Boston, making the house one of only two known examples in Newton. The second-story windows feature wrought iron railings, adding to its distinctive character. The house was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
