Introduction of the TMS320 digital signal processor

In 1983 Texas Instruments introduced the TMS320 family, among the first commercially successful digital signal processors. The TMS320 architecture was developed within Texas Instruments' semiconductor group in the Dallas area and became widely used in telecommunications, audio processing, and control systems. Its release helped establish TI as an industry leader in DSP technology.
