Parliament Building, Windhoek

The Parliament Building, known as the Tintenpalast or 'Ink Palace', is a significant architectural landmark in Windhoek, Namibia. Designed by German architect Gottlieb Redecker in a Neoclassical style, it was constructed between 1912 and 1913 as an administration building during the German colonial era. The building's name reflects the extensive use of ink by its workers. After Namibia's independence in 1990, it became the seat of the National Assembly. Surrounded by the popular Parliament Gardens, the Tintenpalast is a focal point for both locals and visitors, though there are ongoing discussions about the need for a larger facility to accommodate the growing number of parliamentarians.
