Oakwood Estate

Oakwood Estate, located in Winchester, Kentucky, is a historic house listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979. Built during the ante-bellum era, this one-story home features Greek Revival architecture and was originally the residence of Alpheus Lewis Sr., a notable figure whose family history is intertwined with the Revolutionary War. The estate, situated along Stoner Creek, includes remnants of a unique stone rail fence and the graves of Alpheus and his wife, Theodosia. Although the structure is currently in a state of deterioration, its rich history and architectural significance make it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
