Frederiksdal House

Frederiksdal House is a historic country estate located on the picturesque shores of Furesø Lake, north of Copenhagen, Denmark. Spanning 328 hectares, including 200 hectares of forest, it is notable for being the earliest example of a maison de plaisance in Denmark. The estate's origins date back to the Middle Ages as an ecclesiastical property known as Hjortholm. Over the centuries, it transitioned from royal possession to industrial use and has been owned by the Schulin family since 1743. The estate features a rich history, including its transformation under various royal figures and its architectural significance, designed by Nicolai Eigtved. Today, Frederiksdal House offers a glimpse into Denmark's cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
