Brizendine House

The Brizendine House, located at 507 W 11th Street in downtown Austin, Texas, is a historic home built around 1870. This vernacular rough ashlar structure showcases the lifestyle of a late 19th-century working middle-class family and features Victorian architectural influences. It was constructed by John R. Brizendine, an Austin carpenter, and remained in his family until 1928. The house is recognized for its historical significance, being listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1974, as well as a State Antiquities Landmark in 1981. Today, it stands amidst modern developments, offering a glimpse into Austin's rich history.
