Chirk Castle

Chirk Castle, a Grade I listed fortress in north-east Wales, was built in 1295 as part of Edward I's defensive network. Nestled in Wrexham County Borough, it features stunning gardens with yew hedges and rock gardens, set within historic parkland. The castle has a rich history, having been owned by notable families and serving various roles, including a film location during World War I. Today, it is managed by the National Trust and offers visitors a glimpse into its architectural evolution and beautiful landscapes, including the nearby Offa's Dyke and the site of the 1165 Battle of Crogen.
