North Gate of Xiong Town

The North Gate of Xiong Town, located in Gushan District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a historical site built in 1875 by the Qing dynasty military to protect Takao Harbor. It played a significant role during the First Sino-Japanese War and later served various military functions until it was designated as a heritage site in 1985. Opened to the public in 1992, the gate has undergone recent renovations and is now a popular tourist attraction, easily accessible from Sizihwan Station on the Kaohsiung MRT.
