New York Aquarium (Coney Island)

The New York Aquarium, operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society, opened in 1896 and relocated to its current Coney Island site in 1957. The facility houses exhibits including sea lion and penguin habitats and public-program initiatives on marine conservation and education. It is one of the oldest continually operating public aquariums in the United States and anchors Coney Island's waterfront attractions.
