Georgia Welcome Center

The Georgia Welcome Center, established in 1961 and dedicated in 1962, holds the distinction of being the first welcome center in Georgia and is considered the oldest operational roadside welcome center in the United States. Located on US Highway 301 in Screven County, just under a mile from the South Carolina border, it serves as a historical landmark for travelers and a gateway to the state.
