Frederick Douglass National Historic Site (Cedar Hill)

Frederick Douglass National Historic Site preserves Cedar Hill, the house Douglass purchased in 1877 and where he lived until his death in 1895. The National Park Service operates the site, which includes the house, outbuildings, and approximately seven acres of grounds. The site interprets Douglass’s work as an abolitionist, orator, and statesman and offers guided tours and educational programming.
