United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (National Mall)

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum opened in 1993 as the nation's official memorial to the Holocaust and operates as a living memorial to the victims and survivors. The museum's permanent exhibition presents artifacts, documents, photographs, and oral histories to document the history of the Holocaust and its aftermath. It also conducts public education, research, and outreach programs and is located on the National Mall adjacent to other federal cultural institutions.
