Ghirardelli Square

Ghirardelli Square occupies the former site of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company complex and is a noted landmark in the Fisherman's Wharf/North Beach area. The adaptive reuse project transformed factory buildings into a public square with shops and restaurants and helped pioneer historic preservation and commercial redevelopment in San Francisco. The Ghirardelli Chocolate Manufactory store and its prominent sign remain a focal point for visitors.
