Harrods Furniture Depository

The Harrods Furniture Depository, located in Barnes, London, was established in 1894 as a storage facility for large items from the famous Harrods department store. The striking salmon-pink terracotta buildings, designed by architect W. G. Hunt, were completed in 1914 and are now Grade II listed. Although no longer owned by Harrods, the site has been transformed into 'Harrods Village', a residential estate featuring 250 townhouses and penthouse suites. Notably, the main building, William Hunt Mansions, serves as a landmark for the annual Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race. The site also gained cultural recognition by appearing in the music video for the Verve's hit song 'Lucky Man'.
