Barton Springs Pool and Edwards Aquifer spring

Barton Springs Pool in Zilker Park is fed by natural springs that discharge from the Edwards Aquifer and maintain an average temperature near 68°F year-round. The pool and its spring outlets are located along the Balcones Fault zone, which is a major geologic boundary in the Austin area. The spring flow and pool are managed by the City of Austin and have been monitored for water quality and discharge for decades.
