Palais de Glace

The Palais de Glace is a stunning Belle Époque building located in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Inaugurated in 1911, it originally served as an ice skating rink and social club, modeled after the Palais des Glaces in Paris. The venue features a circular ice rink surrounded by theatre-style boxes and elegant social spaces, all illuminated by a grand skylight. As ice skating waned in popularity, the Palais transformed into a prestigious dance hall that played a significant role in the rise of tango. Over the decades, it has hosted numerous art exhibitions and musical events, and in 2004, it was declared a National Historic Monument. Today, it continues to be a vibrant cultural hub, celebrated for its architectural beauty and historical significance.
