Palazzo Ancini

The Palazzo Ancini is a stunning Mannerist-style palace located in the historic center of Reggio Emilia, Italy. Originally commissioned by the Ruggieri family, it has changed hands several times, notably belonging to the Pegoletti and Sormani families before becoming the property of the Count of Ancini in 1821. The palace underwent significant reconstruction between 1924 and 1930, preserving its original features such as the grotesque masks adorning the windows and the central stone portico. Visitors can admire the beautifully frescoed ceiling of the grand staircase by Anselmo Govi, and a plaque honoring local labor leader Luigi Roversi adds a historical touch to the site.
