Smaltz Building

The Smaltz Building, located in Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood, is a historic factory building added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Built in 1911, this ten-story structure originally served as a women's shoe manufacturing facility and later housed various clothing manufacturers. After a significant rehabilitation by Post Brothers, it was transformed into The Goldtex apartment community, which opened in January 2016 as Philadelphia's first LEED Gold certified residential high-rise, blending historical significance with modern sustainable living.
