Park kultúry a oddychu (PKO) was a significant cultural complex in Bratislava, Slovakia, located on the banks of the Danube River. Opened in 1954, it served as a vibrant venue for concerts, dance events, and various cultural activities until its demolition in 2016. The complex featured stunning artworks, including stained glass windows and a monumental painting, and was known for hosting astronomy lectures, making it unique among European capitals lacking an observatory. PKO held a special place in the hearts of many Slovaks, particularly for its role in high school celebrations. Plans for the future include a new planetarium and public spaces as part of the River Park 2 project, transforming the area while preserving its cultural legacy.
