Kyaikkhauk Pagoda

Kyaikkhauk Pagoda is a historic Buddhist site located in Thanlyin Township, southern Yangon Region, Myanmar. Believed to have been built around 2000 years ago by King Sulathrima of Thaton, this Mon-style stupa features four stairways and attracts both tourists and pilgrims. An annual pagoda festival takes place in February, coinciding with the full moon of the Burmese month of Tabodwe. Notably, during Cyclone Nargis, the pagoda served as a vital storm shelter for local villagers, highlighting its significance in the community.
