Michael Billmeyer House

The Michael Billmeyer House, also known as the Bensell-Billmeyer House, is a historic twin house located in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Built around 1730 by John George Bensell and later purchased by printer Michael Billmeyer in 1789, this house played a significant role during the American Revolutionary War, as it is believed to be where General George Washington directed the Continental forces during the Battle of Germantown. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and is part of the Colonial Germantown Historic District, making it a notable site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
