Columbus Tower / Sentinel Building (American Zoetrope)

Columbus Tower, commonly called the Sentinel Building, is a copper-green, flatiron-shaped building at the corner of Kearny, Columbus, and Jackson that dates to the early 20th century. Since the 1970s it has housed Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope film studio and offices, making it notable in cinematic and cultural history. The building's distinctive color and triangular form make it a well-known architectural feature of North Beach. Its ground-floor storefronts and exterior have been photographed and documented in numerous local architectural guides.
