Desart Court

Desart Court, a former Palladian house in County Kilkenny, Ireland, was built around 1733 for the first Lord Desart, John Cuffe. The estate spans a rich history, beginning with land grants to Joseph Cuffe in the 17th century. The house, designed in a fashionable Palladian style, featured elaborate interiors with rococo plasterwork and unique staircases. Unfortunately, it was largely destroyed by fire in 1923 during the Irish War of Independence, leading to a rebuild in 1926. However, the main structure was ultimately demolished in 1957. Today, visitors can explore the historical significance of the site and its architectural legacy.
