Blenheim (Wakefield Corner, Virginia)

Blenheim is a historic house located near Wakefield Corner in Westmoreland County, Virginia, built around 1781 in the Late Georgian style. This two-story brick dwelling features a gable roof and a two-story frame wing. Constructed by the Washington family, it replaced the original family home that was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day, 1779. The house was specifically built for William Augustine Washington, the son of George Washington's half-brother. Blenheim was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, making it a noteworthy site for tourists and researchers interested in American history.
