International House of Japan

The International House of Japan, or I-House, is a cultural exchange organization located in Roppongi, Tokyo. Established in 1955 with support from the Rockefeller Foundation and the Japanese government, it aims to foster mutual understanding and cultural dialogue between Japan and the United States. The building itself, designed by notable architects, features a blend of modern architecture and traditional Japanese garden aesthetics. Visitors can explore its serene gardens and anticipate the opening of a new west wing in 2030, which will house a collection of art, including works by Mark Rothko.
