The Château de Remaisnil, an 18th-century château located in the picturesque village of Remaisnil in the Somme department of Picardy, is a historical monument with a rich heritage. Originally built in 1760 on the site of a medieval castle, it has been home to notable families, including the viscounts de Butler and Senator Jules Elby. The château played significant roles during both World Wars and has connections to the design of the Paris Métro. After extensive renovations by Laura Ashley in the late 1970s, it was transformed into a hotel and conference center. Today, it boasts 35 acres of parkland, featuring a walled garden, tennis court, swimming pool, and elegant reception rooms adorned with Louis XV decor, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
