Sahara / SLS rebrand jokes

The Sahara hotel originally opened on the Las Vegas Strip in the 1950s and after several decades of operation was redeveloped and reopened as SLS Las Vegas in 2014. The property reverted to the Sahara name in 2019 following additional ownership changes and renovations. Local commentators and comedians frequently joked about the property's changing identity as emblematic of Las Vegas's rapid cycles of reinvention and rebranding. The resort currently operates under the Sahara name.
