Hall of Supreme Harmony

The Hall of Supreme Harmony, located in the Forbidden City of Beijing, is the largest hall in this historic complex and a symbol of imperial power. Built in 1421 during the Ming dynasty, it has served as the site for enthronements and weddings of emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The hall is renowned for its impressive wooden structure, intricate dragon motifs, and the exquisite Dragon Throne made of red sandalwood. Rising 30 meters above the surrounding square, it features a unique ceiling design with a coiled dragon and a chandelier-like Xuanyuan Mirror, believed to protect the throne. Despite suffering multiple fires, the hall was last reconstructed in the late 17th century, showcasing the grandeur and significance of China's imperial history.
