Shodapur

Shodapur is a village in the Panipat district of Haryana, India, known for its historical significance related to the Second Battle of Panipat fought on November 5, 1556. This battle was between the Mughal forces led by Akbar and Hemu, a Hindu king of Delhi. After being wounded and captured, Hemu was taken to the Mughal camp in Shodapur, where he was executed. In honor of Hemu, his supporters built a Samadhi, which is the only memorial dedicated to him in Panipat. Recent efforts to restore this shrine began in 2019, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring India's rich history.
