Alhamra Arts Council

The Alhamra Arts Council, located in Lahore, Pakistan, is a vibrant cultural complex designed by Nayyar Ali Dada and completed in 1992. Initially commissioned to create a 1000-seat auditorium in 1979, the site has evolved to include multiple performance spaces, art galleries, and offices, all influenced by Mughal architecture. The complex features unique polygonal designs that enhance acoustics and create inviting courtyards. Recognized with the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1998, it stands as a testament to the integration of modern design with traditional elements. The council continues to be a hub for artistic expression and cultural events in the region.
