Cedar Valley Seminary

Cedar Valley Seminary, located in Osage, Iowa, is a historic seminary building established in 1862 as a Baptist academy. The building, constructed in 1869, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It served as an educational institution until its closure in 1910 due to competition from nearby colleges and improvements in public schooling. Notable alumni include the American novelist Hamlin Garland. In 2016, the building was relocated and is set to become a community gathering space and home to Old Central Coffee, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
