Nottingham Guildhall

Nottingham Guildhall, a Grade II listed building in Nottingham, England, was constructed between 1887 and 1888 to replace an earlier guild hall. Designed in the French Renaissance Revival style by architects Thomas Verity and George Henry Hunt, it features Darley Dale ashlar and brick with Westmorland slate roofs. Originally serving as a magistrates' court, it later housed Nottingham City Council offices until 2010. The building is notable for its two-level cave system, which was repurposed during World War II as emergency headquarters and air raid shelters. Currently, the Guildhall is largely unused and has faced vandalism, prompting increased security measures.
