Vancouver House (Albany, Western Australia)

Vancouver House, also known as the National Bank building, is a heritage-listed site located on Stirling Terrace in Albany, Western Australia, overlooking the picturesque Princess Royal Harbour. Constructed in 1881 by local builder Charles Keyser, this Victorian free classical style building was initially a branch of the National Bank and has served various purposes over the years, including a cafe and guest house. Named after explorer George Vancouver, who claimed the region for Britain in 1791, Vancouver House features a symmetrical facade with stucco masonry and an arched doorway, making it a significant part of Albany's architectural heritage and a notable attraction for visitors.
