Hôtel du Châtelet

The Hôtel du Châtelet is a historic hôtel particulier located at 127, Rue de Grenelle in Paris's 7th arrondissement. Commissioned by the Duke of Châtelet in 1770 and completed in 1776, it has served various significant roles throughout history, including as the headquarters for the École nationale des ponts et chaussées and the Turkish and Austrian embassies. After renovations in 1849, it became the archiepiscopal residence until the 1905 law separated church and state, after which it was repurposed for the Ministry of Labour. Notably, it was the site of the Grenelle agreements in 1968, making it a landmark of both architectural and political significance in Paris.
