Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture

Fort Mason Center occupies a complex of historic former U.S. Army buildings on the northern waterfront that was redeveloped beginning in the 1970s into a nonprofit cultural center. The site houses theaters, galleries, studios, rehearsal spaces, and offices for arts organizations and regularly hosts public events, festivals, and markets. Fort Mason is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and operates through partnerships with nonprofit tenants and public agencies.
