Bottum Farm

Bottum Farm, located at 1423 North Street in New Haven, Vermont, is a historic farm property with roots dating back to the early 1770s. It is notable for its connection to Justus Sherwood, a key figure in Vermont's Revolutionary War history. The farm spans 50 acres and features a collection of mid-19th to early-20th century buildings, including a Greek Revival house, dairy barn, and granary. Sherwood, a Loyalist, transferred the land to his in-laws to protect it from confiscation, and the Bottum family farmed the land until 1958. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, making it a significant destination for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
