Chubb Locks

Chubb Locks, originally founded by Charles Chubb in 1804 in Portsmouth, England, has a rich history in the locksmith industry. The company gained prominence for its innovative locking systems, including the patented detector lock and burglar-resisting safes. Notably, it was the sole supplier of locks to the General Post Office and His Majesty's Prison Service. Chubb also made strides in technology by introducing automated teller machines in the late 1960s. After several ownership changes, the brand ceased in 2010 but its legacy continues under the Yale and Union names. The Chubb Building in Wolverhampton remains a historical site, reflecting the company's significant contributions to security technology.
