El Cortez historic neon blade sign

El Cortez is a downtown Las Vegas casino-hotel whose neon blade sign is an extant example of midcentury commercial signage in the city. The property and its signage date to the early 1940s and the sign has been preserved and restored as part of downtown’s historic visual fabric. The El Cortez sign remains mounted on the building and is cited in surveys of Las Vegas neon history.
