Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo, opened in 1899 and operated by the Wildlife Conservation Society, is one of the largest metropolitan zoos in the United States, occupying roughly 265 acres. The zoo has been a center for animal exhibition, public education, and conservation programs, and it houses signature exhibits such as the Congo Gorilla Forest and Sea Bird Pool.
