Tokatlıyan Hotels

The Tokatlıyan Hotels, established by Meguerditch Tokatliyan in the late 19th century, are iconic luxury hotels in Istanbul, known for their European-style architecture and rich history. The Beyoğlu branch, originally Hotel Splendide, hosted notable guests like Leon Trotsky and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who favored it as his hotel of choice. Despite facing challenges during the First World War and changes in ownership, the building remains a historical landmark. The Tarabya branch, opened in 1909, became a popular summer retreat but suffered a fire in 1954, later being reconstructed as the Büyük Tarabya Hotel.
