First Guesthouse

The First Guesthouse, located in Magong City, Penghu County, Taiwan, is a historic building that once served as a guesthouse for President Chiang Kai-shek. Originally constructed in 1943, it has a rich history dating back to 1908 when the site was home to the Matsushima Memorial Hall. The guesthouse features unique architecture with coral rock walls and a beautiful courtyard filled with plants and trees, as well as a spacious grass plaza ideal for stargazing. Declared a historic monument in 1998 and restored in 2011, the First Guesthouse offers visitors a glimpse into Taiwan's past and is a notable attraction for both tourists and researchers.
