The Clarks Grove Cooperative Creamery, established in 1890 in Clarks Grove, Minnesota, is a historic site recognized for its pioneering role in the cooperative dairy industry. It became a model for over 550 similar creameries across Minnesota by utilizing innovative butter-making technologies and a cooperative system that pooled resources from local farmers. The original building was replaced in 1927 and is notable for its architectural significance and social history, serving as a community hub for Danish Americans. Although it closed in 1996, the creamery's legacy continues to influence Minnesota's agricultural landscape.
