Old San Francisco Mint - 'The Granite Lady'

The Old San Francisco Mint at this site was completed in 1874 and survived the 1906 earthquake and fires, earning the nickname 'The Granite Lady.' It served as the U.S. Mint's San Francisco facility and housed large reserves of gold and silver during its operation. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been used for exhibitions and public events.
