Stevens Avenue Armory

The Stevens Avenue Armory, now known as Arthur P. Girard Innovation Hall, is a historic building located in Portland, Maine. Originally constructed in 1908 for the Portland Railroad Company's electric trolleys, it was transformed into an Art Deco style in 1940 by architect John P. Thomas. The armory served the Maine National Guard until 2015, when it was exchanged for land owned by the University of New England. After significant renovations completed in 2022, it now serves as a hub for innovation and creativity, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
