Fort Wayne Historic Site

Fort Wayne is a 19th-century military fort located at the confluence of the Rouge and Detroit rivers that was established in the 1840s. The site retains original masonry structures and earthwork defenses and operates as a historic museum with period buildings, exhibits, and public programs. Fort Wayne interprets its military history from the mid-19th century through the early 20th century and hosts community events on its grounds.
