Children's Castle

Children's Castle, known as Lastenlinna, is a historic former children's hospital located in Helsinki, Finland. Established in 1918 in the Kallio district, it was designed by the notable Finnish architect Elsi Borg. The hospital moved to its current location in Taka-Töölö in 1948 and was led by prominent pediatricians, including Arvo Ylppö and Terttu Arajärvi. The hospital served the community until its closure in 2018, coinciding with the opening of the New Children's Hospital, making it a significant landmark in Helsinki's healthcare history.
