Pioneer Plaza Cattle Drive sculptures

Pioneer Plaza features the large bronze Cattle Drive sculptures by artist Robert Summers, installed in 1994 and depicting 49 longhorn steers and three trail riders. The installation is a frequently photographed downtown landmark that appears in postcards, tourism images, and social-media posts that sometimes circulate as memes about Texas or cowboy culture. The plaza sits alongside the Trinity River levee and commemorates Dallas's 19th-century cattle-drive heritage.
